India seeks details of leaked documents on Scorpene Submarines from France An official statement from the defence ministry said the Indian Navy has taken up the matter with Director General of Armament of the French Government expressing concern over this incident and has requested the French Government to investigate this incident with urgency and share their findings with the Indian side. “The matter is being taken up with concerned foreign governments through diplomatic channels to verify the authenticity of the reports,” it added.…

At DAC Meet: MoD’s Nod To Defence Acquisition Proposals For Over Rs 31,000 crore The DAC headed by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar reviewed a host of major capital acquisition proposals for the current financial year (2016-17) at its August 18 meeting and was informed that since May 2016, as many as 10 acquisition schemes worth about Rs 16,000 crore have been approved by the government including six at the level of the Cabinet Committee on Securities (CCS). Another, four major acquisitions worth Rs 15,000 crore have been cleared by the ministry and forwarded for the consideration of the CCS.…

Parrikar to Visit US shortly to sign LEMOA LEMOA-- one out of the three foundational pacts that have been hanging in air for over a decade now-- is the agreement on sharing of military logistics between India and the American forces and will facilitate support such as refuelling and berthing facilities for each other's warships and aircrafts on a reimbursable basis. India and the US had agreed in principal to ink this much delayed Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement or LEMOA during Ashton Carter’s recent visit to India in April this year.…
