Exclusive: Rain wrecks havoc at Delhi airport


The unexpected downpour in Delhi on Monday which was preceded by dust storm may brought the much needed respite from the sweltering heat, but it caused havoc at the Delhi airport which dozens of flights being either delayed or cancelled. The Delhi airport had to be briefly shut down on Monday evening because of the storm and rains. “A number of flight either preparing to take off or land were hit as planes hovered over for hours waiting for approval to land,” said an official.
