S.Korea to begin naval drills with US, Canada

South Korea will conduct live-fire naval drills with vessels from the US and Canada this week in waters close to Jeju Island, a Defence Ministry official said on Monday.

The drills are set to begin on Friday and will continue for four days, the official told Efe news.

Five South Korean vessels will participate in the exercises, including the destroyer Yulgok Yii.

The American Arleigh-Burke class destroyer USS Dewey, maritime patrol planes P-3C Orion, and helicopters Lynx and MH-60R will also take part.  Read More…
