Indian Army Wants Peace But Won’t Hesitate To Use Force, Says New Chief General Bipin Rawat

The New Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said on Sunday (soon after assuming charge as the new COAS) that while the role of the Indian Army is to maintain peace and tranquillity at the border but it will not hesitate to use force if the need arises. “We want peace and tranquillity, but that doesn’t mean we are weak. The army will not step back or hesitate to use force if necessary,” Rawat said after inspecting a customary guard of honour at South Block.
