January 9, 2017, for the first time, saw a blend of industry and academia at the Army’s “firepower show” conducted at the Artillery School, Deolali in Maharashtra. This convergence brought together a large section of India’s defence industry including leaders like the Larsen & Toubro, Tata’s, Bharat Forge and others along with various mid-segment industry groups, SMEs and MSMEs as also representatives of leading academic institutions including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the Bangalore-based Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and other academic organisations from across the country.
