23 Army Jawan Awarded With Gallantry, Distinguished Services Award

On Saturday, a total of 23 Indian Army officers and various ranks were awarded heroism and distinguished service awards in Jaipur. The Investiture Ceremony for the South Western Command was held at the 61 Cavalry Polo Ground, Jaipur Military Station.
Lieutenant General AS Bhinder, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Command, bestowed a total of 14 Sena Medals (Gallantry), one Yudh Seva Medal, four Sena Medals (Distinguished), and five Vishisht Seva Medals.
Once a year, the Investiture Ceremony is held to present several honours to individuals who have distinguished themselves through acts of individual gallantry and extraordinary commitment to duty. There were 15 officers, three Junior Commissioned Officers, and six other ranks among the recipients.
Next of kin Gurdeep Kaur, wife of Naib Subedar Mandip Singh, SM (Posthumously) and Jaswinder Kaur, wife of Naib Subedar Satnam Singh, SM, received posthumous gallantry honours (Posthumously). The Army Commander also presented citations to 15 South Western Command battalions for their outstanding achievements.
The Army Commander, speaking on the event, complimented all awards for their valour and great service. He also exhorted all ranks, as well as ex-servicemen, civilians, and their families, to recommit themselves to the nation’s service.
Later, Lt Gen Bhinder spoke with the award winners and their families, thanking them for their essential commitment to the Army’s highest levels of professionalism.
