At least 31 Rohingyas, stranded near the India-Bangladesh border, have been arrested by the TripuraBSF personnel in the last four days. The Rohingyas were stranded between the border fence and the International Border with Bangladesh in Tripura.
Responding to a question about the presence of ‘Rohingya’ refugees stranded on the India-Bangladesh boundary in the Tripura sector, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, “Government is aware of the presence of 31 persons originally from Rakhine State in Myanmar, currently at the Zero Line on the India-Bangladesh border”.
MEA spokesperson said that their documentation and claims are being examined and necessary shelter, food and material are being provided to them by forces deployed on the Indian border. Read More
