According To DRDO Chief, Anti-Drone Technology Is Need of The Hour

G Satheesh Reddy, chairman of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), stated on Monday that the country needed ‘directed energy systems’ and anti-drone capabilities.
“As modern warfare has evolved, we need to speed the development of a spectrum of technologies and significantly boost our anti-drone capabilities to face the multiple challenges,” he stated at the Centre for High Energy Systems and Sciences (CHESS), a prominent DRDO facility.
Satheesh Reddy praised the scientific community’s successes and efforts, but said there was an urgent need to prepare for the production of first-of-its-kind products, move forward with futuristic research, and bring in the much-needed technical self-reliance for the nation’s defence.
