The official agreements for the acquisition of Air Works, India’s largest and most diverse independent MRO with the greatest pan-India network presence spanning 27 locations, have been signed by Adani Defence Systems & Technologies Ltd (ADSTL).

For important defence and aerospace platforms, Air Works has built up substantial operational capabilities across the nation. Air Works performs base maintenance for the ATR 42/72, A320, and B737 fleet of aircraft from its EASA and DGCA-certified facilities in Mumbai, Delhi, Hosur, and Kochi, starting with the first P-8I aircraft Phase 32 checks and continuing through Phase 48 checks and MRO on the landing gear of Indian Air Force 737 VVIP aircraft.

“Given India’s growth trajectory and the government’s goal on connecting the country through a vast mesh of air connectivity, it seems likely that the country’s airline and airport sector would experience its most rapid expansion in the years to come. As a result, the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) industry is extremely important to both the defence and commercial aerospace industries.

According to Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace, “add to this the current modernization effort to make India a big market for defence aircraft, and what emerges is one of the most interesting, complete, at scale, and digital MRO services within the nation.”

“Over its 70-year aviation history, Air Works has successfully completed a number of projects that were firsts for both the industry and India. This combined with the competencies of the Adani Group gives us an organisation that accurately depicts what an Aatmanirbhar Bharat in a crucial industry should resemble, according to D. Anand Bhaskar, MD & CEO of the Air Works Group.
