Amar Jawan Jyoti merged with eternal flame at National War Memorial

The Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate was merged with the Eternal Flame at the National War Memorial (NWM) here on Friday. In a short ceremony, part of Amar Jawan Jyoti’s flame was taken and merged with NWM’s flame, which is 400 meters across India Gate. Chief of the Integrated Defense Staff Air Marshal BR Krishna presided over the ceremony. 1914-1921.

However, the Amar Jawan Jyoti was included in the memorial structure in the 1970s after India’s massive victory over Pakistan in 1971.
