The Indian Army announced on Tuesday that it has found a large cache of weaponry, ammunition, and explosives in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang area, in a major development.
According to sources, the 14 Rajput Regiment discovered these rifles and ammunition on Monday from the bush area of Phinbiro-I under the Manmao police station, where they were believed to be secreted by a proscribed outfit.
“Troops of the 14 Rajput Regiment conducted the operation and collected the arms and ammunition from the jungle region,” a senior police officer was quoted in the media as saying.
One AK-56 rifle with four rounds of ammo, two SBML guns, a point 22 pistol with three rounds of ammunition, and a bottle carrying suspected explosives from the vicinity were among the things found.
Meanwhile, the 23 Sector Assam Rifles’ Aizawl Battalion captured a significant stockpile of rifles, ammunition, and explosives in Mizoram on Sunday.
Four persons were reportedly apprehended in the operation, which took place near Kelssih village in the Aizwal area.
