Army officer killed, another injured in Pakistan ceasefire violation in J&K; India retaliates strongly


An Indian army officer was killed and another critically injured on Friday in an unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan on the line of control (LoC) in Kupwara district of Kashmir.

Defence sources said Pakistan army resorted to ceasefire violation on Friday afternoon in Jumgund area of the LoC in Kupwara district.

“They used small arms and automatics to target our forward positions. “Two junior commissioned officers (JCOs) were injured in sniper fire from Pakistan side.
