Arun Jaitley On Defence Equipment Purchases: India Must Become Self-reliant

Defence Minister Arun Jaitley today said that India, from being a net buyer of defence equipment, should work hard to become self-sufficient. Speaking at a function he said, “we want India, from a net buyer of defence equipment, to become as much self-sufficient and indigenous as possible,” ANI said.Expressing hope that India will become a supplier nation to friendly nations in future, the defence minister said, “Hopefully in future, India to also become a supplier to friendly countries.” This will not only improve our defence strategy but also substantially adds as far as our economy is concerned”. he added at a function in Hyderabad today, as per the agency.

“Our defence strategy will continue to become stronger by the day, our forces will be adequately equipped”, the defence minister added. Arun Jaitley further said that the nation would also do its own bit to strengthen the forces to look after sacred boundaries. Read More…
