At DefExpo 2022, HAL Releases Orders Worth Rs 52 Crore

At the current DefExpo 2022 being hosted in Gandhinagar in Gujarat, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) released Project Sanction Orders to domestic Indian Partners to the tune of Rs 52 crore.

At a ceremony held at the HAL Stall, Dr. Ajay Kumar, the Defence Secretary, presented the orders to industry partners in the presence of C. B. Ananthakrishnan, the CMD of HAL.

The LRUs, which were previously imported, will now be manufactured by domestic Indian partners. Infrared radiation suppression systems, engine air intake particle separators, emergency flotation systems, night vision goggles for light utility helicopters, and other components will be designed and developed locally by the Indian industry partners.

In conjunction with the occasion, the Defense Secretary also unveiled the Indigenisation Supplier Relationship Management Portal (I-SuRe). The portal is a brand-new digital initiative that will support HAL’s indigenization efforts and speed up communication with its partners in the Indian business community.

By enlisting industry partners, HAL has strategically switched from a production strategy focused on transfer of technology to indigenous development. The Album is a collection of the 75 items’ successful indigenization stories. The album was made public by the defence secretary.

At the present DefExpo 2022, the Defense Secretary previously opened the HAL Indigenisation Stall.

At the HAL Indigenization Stall, which showcases more than 26 pieces already produced using indigenous materials by HAL, more than 200 products that are intended to be indigenously manufactured with private enterprises are on display.

At the event were prominent personnel from HAL and DRDO including Alok Verma, Director (HR), E P Jayadeva, Director (Operations), Dr. D K Sunil, Director (Eng, R & D), and others.
