Attack on journalists, security forces: The trend of Naxal violence ahead of polls continues

A Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh on November 8 killed at least five people, including a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel. Two other were injured in the attack. It was the fourth such attack in the past two weeks, in the region.

The attack came a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state’s Jagdalpur district. PM Modi is scheduled to address an election rally there.

The first phase of the Chhattisgarh Assembly polls is scheduled for November 12. In this phase, 18 assembly constituencies will head for polls in largely Left Wing Extremism (LWE)-affected areas. Read More
