Bangladesh terror group leaders keen on crossing border after Awami League’s election win

Following Awami League’s win in the Bangladesh general elections, intelligence reports from various agencies have suggested that top leaders of the terror group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) are keen to cross over to India, fearing massive crackdown in Bangladesh.

Reports indicate that they are congregating near the international border along West Bengal and Tripura for an opportunity to cross over. They have reportedly been in contact with their aides on the Indian side.

Intelligence officers from various agencies have already compiled a list of probable JMB leaders who will infiltrate India and the security has been more vigilant.

Jamaat-e-Islami had contested the recent general elections along with Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) but was almost wiped out in the face of a landslide win for Awami League. Read More
