Cap Airfare On Flights Near Flood Affected Areas: Aviation Ministry


With scare of increase in airfare by private flight operates in view of Kerala flood, the Aviation Ministry is closely monitoring at the spike in airfare on few routes. The ministry has also issued an advise to the airlines concerned to put a cap on the airfare on flights on the few routes.

“Airfare on 18 domestic routes, 10 direct flights to and from Thiruvananthapuram and wight direct flights to and from Calicut are being monitored. Spike in airfare on few routes have been observed. Airlines concerned have been advised to cap the fare on these flights,” the ministry said.

Further, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) stating that Cochin airport is closed for operations upto 8:30 am on August 26. Read More
