Centre For Defence Studies To Be Set Up At Andhra University

The nine-decade-old Andhra University has opened its doors to the defence sector and has started a number of courses to benefit the servicemen from all tri-services.

But the recent visit of Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa has given a new dimension to the collaboration and cooperation between AU and the defence sector. The Air Chief’s visit was a low key affair, but it seems to have given wings to the oldest university in the State.

Vice-Chancellor G. Nageswara Rao said talks were in the advanced stage to start a Centre for Defence Studies in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence (MoD). It is learnt that the Indian Air Force is playing a key role in establishing the centre, which will be a defence research and development centre. Read More…
