‘Defence Corridor To Create 1 Lakh Jobs In TN’

Tamilnadu Small and Tiny Industries Association (TANSTIA) in association with Bharat Electronics limited, organised Defence Corridor Meeting in Chennai to obtain inputs on formulating a policy for establishing the Defence Corrirdor.

A press note said that establishment of the corridor in Tamilnadu is not only aimed at increasing India’s self reliance in the defence sector, but also create a lakh jobs in the State.

The event was also conducted in a view to propel Tamilnadu into leadership position in defence production with a a target of 30 per cent of nationwide defence manufacturing, the release said.

TANSTIA general secretary, C K Mohan said, “The Defence corridor meeting suggested Consultant panel for preparing DPR should be constituted from experts from defence, industries and academia from Tamilnadu.” Read More…
