Defence Ministry Clearance Needed To Use Images

Greater Chennai Corporation on Tuesday became the first municipal body in the country to commission drone mapping of properties and utilities with the project being inaugurated by Tamil Nadu municipal administration minister S P Velumani.

Hyderabad-based RSI Softech India Pvt Ltd will execute the mapping project.

Two hexacopters, each costing nearly Rs 21 lakh, will be used for the project while two quadcopters will be kept on standby. The project will cost the corporation Rs 6.43 crore and the city’s 426sqkm area will be covered in 120 days, the civic body said. Read More…
