DefExpo 22 Will Be The First Edition Held Exclusively For Indian Companies: Rajnath Singh

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced on the eve of the expo on Monday that the Defence Expo 2022 will be the first edition to be completely for Indian businesses.

As many as 47 new goods will be introduced during the expo, according to Singh, who spoke at the curtain-raising news conference in Gandhinagar. Additionally, 349 Memorandums of Understanding will be signed.

In addition, 18 technology Transfer of Technology (TOT) contracts will be signed, and the five-day expo will feature about 37 significant announcements.

According to Singh, the expo’s standout feature will be its exclusivity to Indian businesses, a modest effort to support “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

The opening ceremony and seminars will take place at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Center. The exhibition will be hosted at the Helipad Exhibition Center, live demonstrations will take place at the Sabarmati River Front, and public ship tours will be held in Porbandar.

The last two days (October 21 & 22) have been designated as public days, with the first three days (October 18 to 20) being business days.

The Defence Minister stated earlier in the day that there is now a blurred boundary between domestic and external security threats because hybrid warfare has almost completely destroyed the divide. He was addressing at the Rashtriya Raksha University’s graduation ceremony.

Singh claims that as a result of recent technical breakthroughs, the nature of threats to national security has changed and the issue has now gotten more complicated.

In Gandhinagar, he also presented the Gujarati translation of the book “Modi@20: Dreams Meet Delivery.” According to Singh, Narendra Modi is the “only leader who has known the pulse of the nation while speaking directly with the people of the country” since Mahatma Gandhi.
