Drone Spotted At IGI Airport Ahead Of August 15

Weeks after Delhi Police banned flying objects ahead of Independence Day, a drone was spotted near IGI Airport on Thursday evening.

Police said it was spotted by the pilot of a Chennai-Delhi IndiGo flight, who said it was three to five nautical miles away from the airport. The ATC was alerted.

“The sighting was reported from the southern side of the airport towards RK Puram and the pilot informed the ATC, following which we inspected the area near the airport. Nothing was discovered nearby, however police stations in the area have been alerted and will stay on high alert,” said a police official. Read More
