Eight Times Indian Armed Forces Served And Saved People Of Other Nationalities

We have listed 10 such instances when Indian armed forces went beyond the shores to help people of other countries.

1. Operation Maitri in Nepal

When Nepal faced massive earthquake in 2015, Indian armed forces reached and helped the landlocked Himalayan country from crisis.

Infact India became the first country to respond by providing relief material within six to seven hours of the crisis. Both air force and army provided relief material and helped people get out of the debris of the destruction. Indian forces were helped by the Nepali ex-serviceman served in India’s Gurkha regiment.

2. Operation Rahat in Yemen

Indian Air Force in 2015 launched ‘Operation Rahaat’ and rescued over 960 foreign nationals with its own citizens from Yemen. India launched the operation after Yemen crisis deepened and rescued more than 4640 Indians along with over 960 foreigners who belonged to 41 different countries. Read More
