Fast-track land for radar centre: Navy


At a time when the Centre has put the state government’s request for allotment of Bison Polo grounds in cold storage, the Indian Navy has urged the Telangana government to fast-track allocation of 2,900 acres in Pudur and Damagundam villages in Vikarabad district so that it would go ahead with its plans to set up a very low frequency (VLF) station, missile firing range and build residential quarters for its personnel. .

Both the villages are located 80 km from Hyderabad.

Chief secretary SK Joshi on Monday told TOI that senior Navy officials had sought an appointment to discuss the issue. “A top ranking officer of the Indian Navy is coming down to Hyderabad on July 24 to seek the government’s cooperation on the land issue,” he said. Read More
