Four Suspects In A Terror Funding Case Have Been Arrested

An ATS officer stated on Tuesday that the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad had detained a man from Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the recruitment of operatives for a terrorist organisation and finance.

Since May of this year, the state ATS has apprehended four people in the terror funding and recruitment case.

The official went on to say that they had detained a 32-year-old guy from Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda area and would present him in court on Tuesday.

According to officials, Junaid was arrested for his alleged participation in the recruiting of operatives for the outlawed terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

On Monday, a Maharashtra ATS official announced that Inamul Haq, a citizen of Uttar Pradesh, had been apprehended.

In March of this year, the Uttar Pradesh ATS arrested Haq for claimed ties to the Pakistan-based LeT and radicalising youth. He was detained by the Maharashtra ATS after being held in a jail in Uttar Pradesh.

Junaid, a resident of Khamgaon village in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district who had been working in Pune for a few years, was in contact with some active members of the LeT’s terror network via social media platforms, according to police.

The Maharashtra ATS had also apprehended one Aftab Hussain Shah from Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir after Junaid’s arrest.
