French President Calls for Creation of ‘Real European Army’

French President Emmanuel Macron has called for a “Real European army” to better defend itself against major forces such as Russia, China and even the US.

Macron, who has pushed for a joint EU military structure since taking over the French presidency, said in a radio interview on November 6 that Europe needed to be less dependent on America.

“We need a Europe which defends itself better alone, without just depending on the United States, in a more sovereign manner.
