Govt clears MoD proposal for restoration of ‘ration in kind’ to defence officers posted in peace areas

Government of India has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Defence for the restoration of the ‘Ration in kind’ to the defence officers, posted in peace areas. The central government had earlier stopped the ration for officers posted in peace locations and had started paying them Rs 117 per day in lieu of that.

The decision comes days after newly-appointed Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assumed the office. “I will leave no stone unturned to lift the morale of armed forces and support their families after restoring ration in kind for officers of the three services. It is an honour for me to get an opportunity to do something for the Armed Forces,” Singh said later during the day. Read more
