Himachal Pradesh Avalanche: Bodies of Two Missing Indian Army Jawans Recovered

Bodies of two Indian Army jawans were retrieved on the 23rd day of operations to rescue six soldiers trapped at an avalanche site since February 20 at Namgya in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district. Meanwhile, bodies of four of the six missing Army personnel were already been recovered earlier. The rescue operation is now concluded.

The avalanche that hit the region on February 20 was triggered by the sliding of a glacier near Namgia Dogri, bordering Tibet. The deceased soldiers were identified as naik Videsh Chand, rifleman Govind Bahadur Chhetri, rifleman Rajesh Rishi, rifleman Arjun Kumar, rifleman Nitin Rana and Havildar Rajesh Kumar.
