Hyderabad-Based Company Develops Surveillance Equipment For The Armed Forced

A Hyderabad-based business is researching, designing, developing, and manufacturing tailored surveillance equipment for the country’s security services as part of the ‘Make in India’ effort.

HC Robotics has the support of research institutes in the United States and Europe. It focuses on UAVs, EOIR cameras, and AI-based image processing.

“Drones, cameras, and tac towers are some of the products we make. For surveillance purposes, we supply these to the Indian border “HC Robotics’ Project Manager, Dr Dileep, spoke to ANI.

He noted that the company’s drones have a 40-minute endurance with a 5-kg payload and deliver live feed to the base camp with low latency, highlighting the drones’ unique features.

These include advanced collision prevention and obstacle avoidance technologies to provide the safest flights possible. He believes that drones could be used for airborne surveillance, obtaining military intelligence, and undertaking Search and Rescue (SAR) missions.

HC Robotics was honoured by the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate with the ‘Good Samaritan’ award for their drone services during COVID-19’s first wave.

“We also produce cameras with a 4K resolution that include the gimble. Another product is a tac tower, which is a 40-foot long carbon fibre tube that provides surveillance for a radius of around 5 kilometres from a height of 40 feet (above ground) “Dr. Dileep explained.

The firm is committed to delivering advanced, innovative, and technology-enabled solutions at affordable costs, having partnered with institutions such as IIT Hyderabad and IIIT-DM Kurnool, AP, for research collaboration on UAVs, Gyro stabilised gimbal cameras, Artificial Intelligence, and other advanced technologies.

HC Robotics, founded in November 2018, has a research team of over 60 members, including Doctorates, Engineers from IITs and other top institutes in India and the United States, and industry veterans with real-world expertise.
