ICG vessel built by GRSE launched

An Indian Coast Guard(ICG) fast patrol vessel(FPV) built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) was launched today at Rajabagan Dockyard Unit of GRSE while the secretary of defence production, ministry of defence,

Dr. Ajay Kumar, said India is stressing on export of defence equipment to friendly nations. The vessel named Kanaklata Baruawas launched today at GRSE Kolkata.

The vessel is the fifth and last of the series of the class being built by the company. The first ship of this class, ICGS Priyadarshini, was commissioned on 27 March 2019.

The entire design of the ship has been developed in-house as per requirements of the Coast Guard. The ship is 50 metres long and 7.5 metres wide with a displacement of around 308 tonnes. Read More
