From May 31 to June 1, the 11th edition of the India-Italy Military Cooperation Group (MCG) was held in Rome. The focus of the conversation was on enhancing ongoing defence collaboration between the two countries and launching new initiatives under the existing bilateral defence cooperation system.
On the Indian side, deputy assistant chief of the integrated staff IDC(A), HQ IDS Brigadier Vivek Narang co-chaired the meeting, while on the Italian side, Brigadier General Alessandro Grassano co-chaired the meeting.
The Military Collaboration Group (MCG) between India and Italy was formed to improve defence cooperation between the two countries. It holds regular strategic and operational consultations between the Indian and Italian armed forces’ headquarters, integrated defence staff, and joint staff headquarters.
Both parties expressed pleasure with the vast scope and depth of bilateral military collaboration, according to India’s Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS), and discussed operationalizing new pathways to further strengthen bilateral military ties.
