India And Bangladesh Decide To Improve Their Defence Ties

On Thursday, India and Bangladesh decided to strengthen their bilateral defence relations even more through more military-to-military engagements, capacity-building, and defense-industry cooperation.

This was decided upon during the fourth India-Bangladesh annual defence discussion (ADD), which was co-chaired by the defence secretary Ajay Kumar and Lieutenant General Waker-Uz-Zaman, the chief staff officer of Bangladesh’s armed forces division.

The Indian military is working to “create capacity” for the Bangladeshi military, which includes everything from training and drills to equipment and defence technologies. Of all, Bangladesh is another nation in India’s neighbourhood where China has recently made strategic gains.
