Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari congratulated the cruise missile’s successful test-firing. Defence officials told news agency ANI that he is at the island jurisdiction of Andaman and Nicobar to review operational readiness.

The Indian Navy demonstrated the accuracy of an extended-range land-attack Brahmos supersonic cruise missile from the stealth warship INS Chennai earlier this month.

After traversing an extended range trajectory and conducting intricate manoeuvres, the missile hit its targeted target with perfect accuracy, according to navy officials.

Both the Brahmos missile and the INS Chennai were manufactured in India, demonstrating the country’s missile and shipbuilding prowess. According to the officials, they “reinforce” the Indian Navy’s contribution to the Atma Nirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives.
