Indian Army Backs Narendra Modi Government’s Decision to Tax Disability Pension of Defence Personnel

Indian Army on Tuesday backed the Narendra Modi government’s decision to tax disability pension of defence personnel. The Indian Army said that higher compensation awarded for disability with tax exemption has over the years lead to rise in personnel seeking disability even for lifestyle diseases.

The Indian Army stated that the force is concerned for all personnel who are invalidated out of service in combat conditions or otherwise, and need additional support. It further added that the Army discourages those who seek financial gains through their disabilities. Read More
