Iran offers mediation between India, Pakistan over Kashmir


The Islamic Republic of Iran has said it is willing to mediate between Pakistan and India over the long-standing issue of Kashmir if requested.Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost has said that Tehran is willing to mediate between Pakistan and India over the long-standing issue of Kashmir if requested, Express Tribune reported on Saturday

 

.“Any conflict or tension between the two countries [Pakistan and India] will hinder the progress and development of both the countries but will also impact upon the economies of other regional countries,” Honardoost was quoted as saying in an interview.”Iran has also offered its assistance to attain peace and tranquility in the region,” the report said. The State Government has demarcated 278 kanals of land at Khimber in outskirts here for establishment of the farm for the flock of sheep that was moved out from Dachigam National Park, last habitat of Kashmir Stag (Hangul).Sources said a joint team of officials from Revenue and Sheep Husbandry Departments visited the area and demarcated the land. “The possession of the land was handed over to the Sheep Department,” said the sources.
