Jammu And Kashmir: NIA Summons Businessman, Traders’ Give Shutdown Call


Traders of Kashmir valley have called for a shutdown on Monday to protest against the NIA for summoning a top businessman in connection with its probe into terror funding in Kashmir. The NIA has summoned businessman Mohammad Yasin Khan, president of Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), asking him to appear in its office in New Delhi on Monday. Khan also heads the Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), an amalgam of trade and tourism bodies. The KTMF and KEA called for a shutdown across the valley following the NIA communication.

The joint separatist leadership, comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik, on Sunday extended support to the traders’ shutdown call. Read More…
