A day after a youth was killed in Batmaloo area of Srinagar, the Border Security Force on Sunday admitted to the killing of 22-year-old of Sajad Hassan, insisting that he died when they fired in the air in self-defence.
The Jammu and Kashmir police have registered a murder case against the concerned BSF personnel.
The BSF said its men fired in order to prevent one of the protesting youths from snatching their rifle.
“An internal inquiry into the allegations of firing, which led to the death of Sajad Hassan has prima-facie revealed that our men fired at Batmaloo leading to the unfortunate death of the youth,” said a BSF spokesman. Read More…
