J&K Security: Today, Shah Will Hold A High-level Meeting

A high-level discussion on the security of Jammu and Kashmir will be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah today.

The police and civil administration in Jammu and Kashmir would be given specific instructions at the meeting.

The sessions will be led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Intelligence Chiefs, and the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, in attendance.

The meeting’s main focus tomorrow will be on targeted killings as well as how to protect the minority community. Since May, there have been eight targeted assassinations, including one today of a bank manager.

According to an official, the targeted killings carried out by the ISI-backed Lashkar-e-Tayiba are plainly intended at instilling terror and forcing minorities out of the Union Territory.

Following the meeting, a number of immediate steps will be done to ensure that no such events occur. Security will be revised and enhanced from the ground up to ensure that security is at an all-time high.
