JMB India head in STF custody

The special task force of Kolkata Police that had arrested several members of the Bangladesh-based terror group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), has now finally been able to get their India operations head, Kausar, alias Boma Mizan, in their custody. Kausar was arrested in August from Bengaluru by the NIA.

Top officers at Lalbazar remained tight-lipped about the incident but sources said STF wanted him not only for planning to hatch terror activities in the state in 2016 but also to get information about specific modules, which he has set up in Bengal.

“Though we were the first to carry out arrests in the Bodh Gaya blast case, our questions to Kausar have been aimed at getting leads on future attacks on this soil. We are also building evidence against him in our own cases,” said an officer. Read More
