Kartarpur: Customs, immigration formalities on agenda of second meet


The experts of India and Pakistan are likely to focus their discussions over immigration and customs formalities for the pilgrims going to Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan for paying obeisance at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib via Kartarpur corridor during scheduled April 16 technical level meeting between two countries at Zero Line on international border.

Most of the technical level aspects pertaining to road alignment and its demarcations were finalized during first round meeting of technical experts of both countries held at Zero Line at Indo-Pak international border at Dera Baba Nanak on March 19.

Sources informed TOI on Wednesday that Final Road Level (FRL) had already been discussed and agreed upon by technical experts of both India and Pakistan during March 19 meeting. “Both countries had communicated FRL in last meeting. Now, technical issues pertaining to other departments are to be discussed and agreed upon,” said sources.

The experts from Land Port Authority of India, National Highway Authority of India , customs, immigration, irrigation department, Border Security Force (BSF) etc. would be discussing various aspects with their counterparts from Pakistan. Read More
