Kashmir Attack: Shashi Tharoor Says ‘Government Is Absent Without Leave. Where Are They?’


 Congress MP Shashi Tharoor criticised the BJP-led NDA government on Tuesday in context of the ceasefire violations in Jammu and Kashmir. Tharoor while talking to the media said,”This is a government which talked about showing ‘laal aankh’ to our enemies at the border. They boasted about the strategic surgical strikes. They are willing to take the credit, when something good happens, but they remain silent when things are going badly.” He added,”Indian lives are being lost, our citizens are in danger. They are suffering from these repeated ceasefire violations. But the tragedy is that our government is entirely absent without leave. Where are they?” The statement came after gunmen attacked a Srinagar hospital and successfully freed a Pakistani terrorist today.

On Sunday, in Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Bhimer Gali sector of Rajouri district, an army captain and three jawans were killed. As per the Indian Express army sources, the Pakistani soldiers used weapons of high calibre during the attack. The high calibre weapons mean either anti-tank missiles or artillery guns as small arms cannot lead to such high casualties, the source added. Read More…
