Officials said security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara area on Tuesday neutralised two terrorists linked to Hafiz Saeed’s Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in an early morning raid.
The Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police initiated the operation in Kupwara’s Chaktaras Kandi area after receiving specific information that certain terrorists were hiding in the area.
One of the terrorists killed down on Tuesday, according to Kashmir Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar, was a Pakistani national named Tufail. He stated that the operation is still ongoing.
In less than 24 hours, security personnel have initiated their second confrontation in the Valley. They killed another Lashkar terrorist in the Baramulla district’s Sopore area on Monday night.
“Hanzalla of Lahore, Pakistan, was identified through paperwork found from the slain Pakistani terrorist. One AK rifle, five magazines, and ammo have all been found. More information will be forthcoming “In a tweet, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said.
Due to an increase in targeted killings of Hindus in the Valley, security forces have been on high alert. Officials believe these attacks are being orchestrated by terrorist handlers in Pakistan in order to destabilise the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
They are concerned that terrorists may use drones to carry out assaults. Officials, on the other hand, stated that they are fully prepared to foil any attempt to breach the Indo-Pakistan border.
“Drones are a threat that is felt all around the world (along the Indo-Pak border). Nobody can claim that such a threat does not exist in Rajouri, Poonch, or the surrounding areas “BSF Rajouri Poonch sector Deputy Inspector General (DIG) DS Sindhu told news agency PTI.
“Drones pose a threat in all places along our borders,” Sindhu said, adding that troops are stationed around the border to safeguard residents who live near the border.
He stated that troops were deployed to provide the border inhabitants a sense of security. Sindhu was reported by PTI as adding, “Army and BSF are controlling the Line of Control in an appropriate manner to prevent any evil design of our enemy.”
