Lt General Taranjit Singh Assumes Command Of Strike 1


Lieutenant General Taranjit Singh on Friday took over as the commanding officer of the elite Strike Corps based here.

Lt Singh, who is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, was commissioned into 65 Armoured Regiment from Indian Military Academy on Dec 19, 1981.

He also holds the operational experience during the Operation Pawan as part of the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) in Sri Lanka for two years with the Regiment.

The General Officer has served in various positions, including Command, Instructional and Staff appointments.

His command assignments include command of an Armoured Brigade and General Officer Commanding of Rapid Division part of a Strike Corps.

He has also held different staff appointments in United Nations Peace Keeping Missions and also at Indian Army headquarters. Read More…
