During various operations in the forests of Gaya, Bihar, the CoBRA battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) found an AK series reflex, 250 rounds of ammunition, 65 IEDs, and 495 detonators, the CRPF reported on July 13. It is important to note that the CRPF has recovered significant quantities of weapons twice since last month, when it discovered a sizable stash in Lohardaga, Jharkhand.
One AK-series rifle, 250 rounds of ammunition, 65 pressure improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 446 series IEDs, 101 can IEDs, and 495 detonators are among the weapons and ammunition that were seized.
Second major arms and ammunition haul in a month
The weapons were found after receiving a tip. Similar progress was made by the CRPF in the neighbouring state of Jharkhand last month. The central agency had discovered six IEDs weighing 2 kg each, two bundle wires, 40 pieces of MSeal packages, and 421 live rounds during three different joint search operations.
These operations were also carried out as a result of a tip-off, and searches were done at specific areas in the villages of Chapal, Jurni, and Guni.
Amarnath cloudburst: Multi-agency operations saved 123 people
Over 16 people lost their lives as a result of the cloudburst catastrophe, which led to flash floods in the vicinity of the cave. However, during the relief and rescue efforts that followed the cloudburst, the security agencies, including the Indian Air Force, Army, BSF, CRPF, and J&K Police, rescued the lives of 123 persons.
Aviation Commodore Pankaj Mittal said during a press briefing that the primary air operations on July 9 began approximately 8 am. The key assets we employed were 4 MI 17, 4 Cheetas, and 2 fix wing assets, which assisted in obtaining manpower and additional assets from different regions of the nation.
The severe weather didn’t stop us from finishing 112 sorties, rescuing 123 individuals, and returning 7 human remains to Srinagar. On July 9, we flew in around 29 tonnes of relief and rescue supplies in addition to 500 food packs.
