Ministry Of Defence Signs A Deal With GSL Worth Rs 473 Crore

The Ministry of Defence has inked a contract with Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) to build eight Fast Patrol Vessels for the Indian Coast Guard at a cost of Rs 473 crore.

GSL will design, develop, and manufacture these surface platforms in-house under the Buy (Indian-IDDM) Category.

These eight high-speed warships will be stationed throughout India’s shore, capable of operating in shallow waters and bolstering the security infrastructure along the extensive coastline.

While achieving the goals of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat,’ this would strengthen indigenous shipbuilding capability and generate job prospects in the sector.

The contract will strengthen the government’s ambition to make India a defense manufacturing hub that serves both home and foreign markets.
