NIA grills Kashmiri religious scholar in ISIS Amroha terror module case

After conducting searches in Amroha for the third time in a fortnight on Wednesday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) questioned a Kashmiri religious scholar in connection with ISIS Amroha module crackdown today. Sudheer Ahmed, 29, who works as a casual labourer in the power development department, was questioned by the NIA in Jammu & Kashmir’s Awantipora today.

The NIA officials will try to ascertain how he coordinated with the suspects in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha.

Earlier, a joint team of the NIA and the Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) conducted searches at several locations in Amroha yesterday. The investigative agency bought one of the suspects, Suhail, a resident of Mullana in the district and searched his relatives’ residences in Saidpur Imma village.

He was also taken to Razzak Bazaar in Amroha where raids were conducted at several electronic and scrap shops from where the accused allegedly bought explosives. Read More
