Now, Prakash Karat attacks army chief Bipin Rawat on Kashmir issue

Senior CPI-M leader Prakash Karat courted controversy on Tuesday after he attacked army chief Gen Bipin Rawat for his “unbecoming” attitude towards the Kashmir issue in an opinion piece in the party’s mouthpiece.

Referring to Gen Rawat’s remarks on civilian protesters at a recent interview, Karat pointed out that the army chief was towing the government’s line on Kashmir, which is to “suppress” the people who are “voicing their political protest”.
