One killed, two injured in police firing

One criminal was killed and two others injured when police personnel opened fire after outlaws started pelting stones and bricks on them during police raid at Etwarpur village in the bordering Beur and Parsa police station areas in the district today.

Police Superintendent (City-West) Ravindra Kumar said that criminals started pelting stones on police personnel when the latter raided their hideout, forcing police to open fire in self defence, killing an outlaw and leaving two others injured. He said that criminals were indulged in consuming liquor and gambling when the hideout was raided.

Meanwhile, sources said that a sub-inspector rank police officer was seriously injured in stone pelting, persuading police to retaliate by opening fire on the outlaws. Further investigation is on, he added. Read More
