Pak action only temporary: Retd Lt Gen Menon

Former military advisor to National Security Council secretariat Lt Gen Prakash Menon (Retd) said on Tuesday that Pakistan’s recent action against terror organisations appears to be a “temporary measure” and not enough to prove that it has adopted a strong stance against terrorism.

Pakistan’s Interior Ministry had announced last week the arrest of 44 people affiliated with various terrorist organisations. “We have seen such knee-jerk reactions from Pakistan in the past, but the same have proved ineffective.

Unless we see a long-term impact of these steps, India will not accept Pakistan’s narrative,” said Menon, also a former Major General Staff of the army’s Northern Command responsible for operations in Jammu and Kashmir.  Read More
