Rajnath Commends The “Veer Naris” Of The Military

At a sombre ceremony held by Trishakti Corps at the Bengdubi military base on Thursday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh honoured 19 “Veer Naris,” or mothers and widows of Territorial Army personnel who perished in the huge landslide at Tupul in Manipur.

According to a statement from the Defense, he praised the courage and great sacrifice of brave members of the 107 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army), 11 Gorkha Rifles.

The military minister congratulated the 19 “Veer Naris” and expressed sympathy for the lost families, assuring them that the government would work to provide their financial security.

During his conversation with the “veer naris,” Singh observed, “Sacrifices performed by the military can never be returned and the country will always be indebted to them.”

According to the statement, Singh gave each “Veer Nari” a check for Rs. 7 lakh to lessen their plight.

It claimed that within a few seconds, it had killed 61 persons, including an officer, three junior commissioned officers, and 26 other troops from the 107 Inf Bn (TA) 11 GR.

Senior Army officers, including General Manoj Pande, General Officer Commanding, 33 Corps, Lt. General Tarun Kumar Aich, and others, attended the event.
